  1. Just noticed the last entry was 17th May and that was my 65th birthday. I am sitting here watching the Crossroads festival on Sky Arts and can't for the life of me figure out why you are not there! Right now I'd rather be watching you and sipping a warm beer. One day I will catch that train to Holyhead!

  3. Lloyd, I had the pleasure of seeing you for the first time at Jim's birthday bash on Friday 8th Nov 2013. I really just want to thank you for such a great performance - one that I'll not forget! Was also good to talk to you - not just a great musician, but a regular guy too! We're not local but I'm gonna keep my eye on the gig guide because you're well worth the drive!
Once again, thanks for a great night!

  4. Hi Lloyd hope you are keeping well, thought I would drop you a line as its a while since I have bumped into you etc.

What brought you to to mind and I know it may sound bad is that I was going through my record collection and came across 801 Live on which you were a member, my copy is on the Polydor label and I obtained over 20 yrs ago and good it is too.

Good to see you are still gigging and bashing out the notes a few Hendrix still I hope ? Anyhow, must make the effort to get to a gig and see you soon, so stay well and keep on rocking !

Kind regards Reuben H ex Spalding Blues Club etc etc.

  6. Went to see the first gig by Lloyd and the supergroup of Fozzy on drums and Buggy on bass at The Cellar Bar on 11th November 2011. Amazing gig. The old Lloyd was back on stage with a vengeance. Glad to have been a part of this historic night.

  7. Lloyd have seen you play so many gigs over the years and have always enjoyed your gigs tremendously. My earliest experience of your masterly playing was at Walton School in 74/75, and if i remember rightly "Kim Joyce" played with you.I'm not sure as it was sooo long ago.
I think its marvellous that your still going strong and bringing your musical enthusiasm and talent to the ears of so many like minded blues fanatics. Your a true master of your craft. See you soon at the cellar bar.

    Steve.

  9. I just bought the 801 Live Collectors Edition. I am a 55yr. old guitar player. I bought a cassette of this gig in the cut-outs in '78 only because I thought the Fender headstock looked cool. It turned out to be maybe the best live album ever! What is better? The live 'Umma Gumma' disc? 'Live at Leeds'? 'Judas Priest Live'? 'The Turning Point'? I just don't think so!

  10. Lloyd, Brilliant to have you at the Westwood Hotel this Sunday for our Jam Session. It made my year playing on our new stage with you. The whole pub loves your enigmatic style of playing. Your knowledge and skill blow us away every time mate. A fine artist and accomplished Guitar Icon in my mind.
Cant wait for the 14th November mate!

  12. Hi Lloyd

I came across your site quite by accident and I am so please I did. I remember seeing you play many times back in the 60's and early 70's. I was actually at the Elwes Hall that night back in 1967 when the Soulmates took the show - I recall you were up against a strong cover version of a Whiter Shade of Pale which was the current hit at that time - but you pullled it off and I have never forgotton it - long may you continue to play and entertain us....

  14. Have seen you play ssooooooo many times. Why have you not mentioned on your site the fact that you were in the "Soul Mates" in the 60's best band at that time i have ever seen. The Geno Washington songs you played then were brill. 3 of us used to travel miles to see you play. Don't ever retire x

FROM LLOYD: Thanks for this Sylvie. We are in the process of adding some detail about "The Soul Mates". Look out for it next time you visit the site. Kind regards.
